Happy Birthday M&G!!!

the little's turned 3 today (3 is so the new 2) and wow did they act it today...I am beat. Party was this past weekend, and the cakes turned out pretty good...of course they had separate requests...

You can see the birthday boy snagged a headlight before I noticed and took some pics...that kid is fast...

Ms. G requested a baby einstein cake....the characters took awhile (traced the DVD covers on parchment with royal icing), but came out ok...

...had some issues with some of the characters...breaks, etc, one pretty much crumbled as I was putting it on...had to try to glue it together with more icing (of course no photos of that mess)

After the carnage....

All in all a great #3 for the kiddos....!

Someone turned the big 4-0 this week! (and soooooo glad it's not me!)

And what's the best way to say happy birthday to the big kid at heart? (who by the way feeds the star wars, lego, super hero monster we seem to have around here)

That's a lightsaber for those who may not have star wars freaks living in their homes.....And why is it that the kids go straight for the icing and leave the entire cake....do all kidlets do that or just mine...? OK back to studying.

easter cuppy cakes

gluten free chocolate cupcakes to bring to a friends tomorrow...edible green grass (it's made from potato starch), frosting, and jelly belly jellybeans...fun.

...these were supposed to be a pretty lavender easter color---not the twilight purple they currently are...note to self, colors deepen over time and a little sometimes goes a long way. Oh well, hope they at least taste good. Happy Easter to all!

cupcake bites

Been meaning to try these for awhile since I saw them on Bakerella's site. Cake mixed with icing on the inside and candy melts and chocolate on the outside. They are kinda like petit fours and are really sweet. The kids loved them!
